Anti Carbonation Water Based for Protective Coating
DESCRIPTION
Deltacoat AC is an elastomeric coating, one part, water based. It use for the protection and enhancement of fair – faced concrete from carbonation because of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Deltacoat AC protect reinforced concrete structures from the effects of carbonation, carbonation causing corrosion of the steel and eventually spalling of the concrete. Deltacoat AC can be applied over existing coatings or directly onto the concrete surfaces.
USES
• Protection and enchancement of concrete structures especially exposed concrete surfaces.
• Protection of reinforced concrete structures from carbon dioxide (CO2)
• For use with concrete repair works as an elastic protective coating
ADVANTAGES
• Very high diffusion resistance to carbon dioxide (provides excellent protection to concrete).
• Highly resistant to alkaline attack.
• Can be applied to most surfaces without the need for a primer.
• Easily and quickly repaired and maintained.
• Good resistance to weathering, abrasion resistant finish with a hig degree of flexibility.
• Easy application by brush, roller, or airless spray.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
Surface Preparation
The surface should be sound, clean , free of oil, grease, dust or laitance and saturated surface dry. If there efflorenscence, should be completely removed. Excessively chalking substrates should be washed with a high pressure water jet and allowed to dry. Any area subject to mould should be cleaned then treated with a proprietary fungicidal wash. Surfaces of existing coatings should be lightly abraded.
Application Procedures
The product is supplied ready for use and requires no mixing, however stirring the product to incorporate any slight separation is advised before use. The product should not be applied below 50C, or when humidity exceeds 90%. Wall surfaces do not normally require priming, however on certain very porous surfaces the application of a ‘sealer coat’ of the product thinned 20 – 25% with water can be used to ensure a uniform finish is achieved. Deltacoat AC could be applied using brush, roller, and airless spray, apply Deltacoat AC to the required film thickness, allow to cure, inspect the coating for defect, then repair all defect.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Deltacoat AC is water based material, during use, avoid inhalation contact with the skin or eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing – eye protection, gloves and respiratory equipment, particularly in confined spaces. In case of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately.
FIRE
Deltacoat AC are non flammable materials.
