Decorative and Surface Protection Water Based Epoxy
DESCRIPTION
Deltacoat EWB is a-two components high performance water based epoxy coating which is more environmental friendly. Deltacoat EWB can be applied in all kinds of manufacturing, storage and processing area of industrials, housings, hospitals and office buildings. It provides a tough and cleanable finished, furthermore its low odour allows installation without disruption of other activities.
USES
Decorative and surface protection for wall, pool, steel column and any other surface areas based of concrete/cement, mild steel, zinc, etc.
ADVANTAGES
- Can be applied on damp substrates
- Cures quickly for maximum installation productivity and minimal downtime
- Excellent adhesion to the concrete substrate.
- Tough yet cleanable and Water-dilatable yet easy cleaning for equipment after applications
- Semi Gloss finished gives better appearance and better images.
- Good hiding
- Brush or roller applied and low odours enable application without disruption on other activities.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTION
Surface Preparation
For maximum product performance, proper and thorough surface preparation is necessary. This is particularly important in aggressive industrial or high corrosion environments. The surface to be coated must be clean and free of rust, dirt, oil, grease, wax, mildew, defective old coating and other poorly adhering material that could interfere with adhesion. Avoid the inhalation of dust.
New surfaces must be brushed with a stiff brush to remove all loose surface materials. Porous surfaces must be sealed with a thinned first coat.
Mixing
Stir component ‘B’ thoroughly, then mix with component ‘A’ in a 0.85 : 0.15 weight ratio. Stir this mixture thoroughly for 3 minutes and allow a 5 minutes induction time before application. This ratio of mixing should not be varied, and should be finished use in 1 hour. Addition of 5 % water in the mixture will make it smoother.
Application
For brush application, use a quality synthetic filament brush. For rolling, use a short nap mohair cover. Deltacoat EWB dries to touch in 1 to 2 hours and maybe re-coated in 3-hours. If more than 72 hours elapses between re-coats, the previous coating will need to be sanded before applying additional coats.
Any pre-existing finish that is glossy will need to be sanded before top coating with water based epoxy. Cured in 3 days, full durability of the coating is achieved after the normal 7-days curing period.
Cleaning
After use remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with clean water.
Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.

Note : These figures are given as a guide only and will vary depending on air movement and humidity. Re-coat before 3 days for optimum inter-coat adhesion. The reaction of epoxies commences immediately after the two components are mixed. This reaction is temperature related and so the curing time will be approximately halved by a 10oC increase in temperature and doubled by a 10oC decrease in temperature. For sealing new or bare surfaces thin with up to 1 part of clean water to 10 parts of activated paint.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Deltacoat EWB contains epoxy resins which can be irritating to eyes and skin.
Wear suitable protective clothing – eye protection, gloves and respiratory equipment, particularly in confined spaces. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contacts occured, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advise. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
FIRE
Deltacoat EWB is flammable materials.
