Non-Metallic Floor Hardener
DESCRIPTION
A ready to use mixture of cement, additives, pigments and non metallic natural aggregate with selected shape, grading, high physical quality and mechanical performance.
USES
Deltahard NM is added to fresh concrete slab surfaces to improve their abrasion resistance and avoid dust formation. It is ideally suited for all industrial areas subjected to medium and heavy traffic, for example warehouses, traffic lanes, engineering workshops, car parks, garage, laboratories, etc.
ADVANTAGES
- Reduces surface dust formation
- High resistance to abrasion
- Improves resistance to oils and greases
- Improves resistance to impact
- Non-metallic aggregate which will not rust when wet and available in a range of colours
- Easy in application, just sprinkled into the freshly placed concrete, and even finish is obtained when properly smoothed
CONSUMPTION
Average consumption : 3 kg to 6 kg per m2, depending on job requirement. Light duty : 3 kg/m2Medium duty : 4 – 5 kg/m2
Heavy duty : 6 – 7 kg/m2
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
The concrete slab should be at least 15 cm thick. The concrete should contain minimum cement content of 250 kg/m3. The concrete mix should be designed to minimise segregation and bleeding. Level the freshly pored concrete by means of a vibrating beam. As soon as the plasticity permits, smooth the concrete preferably by using a mechanical trowel. The concrete slab is ready for the Deltahard NM application when a thumb pressed hard onto the surface only leaves a ‘print’ of about 3 – 5 mm depth. Broadcast the mix evenly by hand or with suitable device and wait until the water in the concrete has evenly moistened Deltahard NM, then float it with a low rpm mechanical trowel. As soon as the plasticity or initial set allows, perform preliminary smoothing with the same machine running at low speed but equipped with metal smoothing blades, set at minimum angle. Any final smoothing required should be performed later with the machine running at high speed.
Deltahard NM treated concrete surface must be protected to prevent early dry-out or crazing with curing compound.
CURING TIME
Foot traffic 1 – 2 daysFor light vehicle traffic 7 – 10 days<
Fully cured after 28 days

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Deltahard NM contains cement powders which, when mixed with water or upon becoming damp, release alkalis which can be harmful to the skin. During use, avoid inhalation of the dust and contact with the skin or eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing - eye protection, gloves and respiratory equipment, particularly in confined spaces. In case of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately.
FIRE
Deltahard NM is a non flammable material
