Waterplug Cementitious Mortars

DESCRIPTION

Deltaplug is a powder mixtures of special cement, well graded fine fillers and a chemical control system which needs only the addition of water to produce a very fast-setting powerful and non-chloride permanent plugging mortar.

USES

Ready for use waterplug to stop pressure leaks and seepage through rock and concrete, as well as through joints between concrete and steel, where conventional mortars would easily washed away and where even rapid set resin mortars will not bond. Deltaplug should be used to stop leaks in concrete tanks, basement, subway, culverts, tunnels, dams, basements, pools, etc.

MIXING

Deltaplug should be mixed with water in the proportions of 4 parts of Deltaplug to 1 part of water by weight. Mix Deltaplug with water so that a stiff consistency is reached, then use a gloved hand or trowel to apply it into the leaked area. Please only use the quantity, which can be placed within the prescribed setting time, which is 60 - 90 seconds.

APPLICATION

Cut concrete or rock in open shape around the leaking point. Remove all chippings, unsounds and loose particles and clean surface with water prior to application of Deltaplug. Fill freshly prepared Deltaplug into the open shape cut, starting outside and work towards the centre off the leak. Hold material in place until it reaches the initial set.

CURING

Standard concrete curing procedures should be followed to prevent rapid water loss, early drying surface cracks and loss of strength.

PRECAUTIONS

Deltaplug is non toxic but should not be ingested as it is based on cement and is therefore alkaline. Deltaplug is hygroscopic, seal tightly the unused quantity immediately in original container.

Always use rubber gloves when working with Deltaplug. Do not mix Deltaplug with other admixtures, cements or sands.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Deltaplug contains cement powders which, when mixed with water or upon becoming damp, release alkalis which can be harmful to the skin. During use, avoid inhalation of the dust and contact with the skin or eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing - eye protection, gloves and respiratory equipment, particularly in confined spaces. In case of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately.
